Prof. Dr. Volkan AYDIN completed his medical education at Dokuz Eylül University Faculty of Medicine in 1983 and received the title of medical doctor in 1990. He completed his specialization at Çukurova University Faculty of Medicine between 1993-1999 and became a Neurosurgery Specialist.

Prof. Dr. Volkan AYDIN, who worked as an Assistant Professor at Başkent University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Neurosurgery between 1999-2006, received Microendoscopic discectomy training in Paris and Brussels in 2000 and in 2004 he completed his fellowship at Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU) in Portland, Oregon, USA. 

He was appointed as Associate Professor in Başkent University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Neurosurgery in 2006. Between 2006-2008, he established the Neurosurgery Clinic in the new building of Private Gaziosmanpaşa Hospital and provided service. Prof. Dr. Volkan Aydın, who continued his work in the Private clinics opened in Etiler and Nişantaşı for 3 years, continued his work at Ethica İncirli Hospital and Istanbul Surgery Hospital in the following years, and in 2013 he was appointed as a Professor at Gelişim University and was assigned to the establishment of the Faculty of Medicine of the University. Prof. Dr. M.Volkan Aydın, who was appointed to Okmeydanı Training and Research Hospital in September 2018, worked as Prof. Dr. Cemil Taşcıoğlu City City Hospital Neurosurgery Clinical Education and Administrative Responsible between 2019-2025 and was appointed as Professor in Health Sciences University, Prof. Dr. Cemil Taşcıoğlu City Hospital Neurosurgery Department in March 2021. Since January 20, 2025, he has been working with his team at Liv Hospital Ulus Hospital Neurosurgery Department.

Prof. Dr. M. Volkan AYDIN, who currently continues his professional work at Liv Hospital Ulus, is a member of the Turkish Neurosurgical Association, Association of Nervous System Surgery, European Association of Neurosurgical Societies (EANS), American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS) and AOSPINE International and speaks fluent English and moderate Deutsch. He has 37 articles published in international journals.
